11. Website and Communications

11.1 Website

The GSF will maintain a website as a communication vehicle to all member associations, the media and the public at large. (www.globalspeakersfederation.net)

11.2 LinkedIn

GSF LinkedIn Group – Speaker Community of the Global Speakers Federation

Approval Process:

  1. A GSF volunteer who is a member of the group is made manager of the group.
  2. The manager logs into their own LinkedIn account to take care of the approvals. Potential members do not need to be members of any GSF speakers association to be approved as a member of this group.
  3. The manager checks in regularly to ensure all posts are within the group guidelines, which state that the group is a place to share resources and best practices, ask questions and create discussions related to global speaking.
  4. The manager will remove any posts that are self-promotional or spam.

11.3 Facebook

GSF Facebook Group – GSF Speaker Community

Approval Process:

  1. A GSF volunteer who is a member of the group is made admin of the group.
  2. The admin logs into their own Facebook account to take care of the approvals. This is a closed group. Members need to be members of any GSF speakers association to be approved as a member of this group.
  3. The admin will send a direct message in response to membership requests asking if they are a member of a GSF association. If the person responds saying they are, and with proof, then the admin will approve them.
  4. All new posts need to be approved by the admin, who will check into the group regularly to moderate any posts put up by group members. Posts that are within the group guidelines will be approved. Others that do not meet the guidelines will be removed. Guidelines state that the group is a place to share resources and best practices, ask questions and create discussions related to global speaking.
  5. The admin will remove any posts that are self-promotional or spam.
  6. Here is the direct message that is typically sent:

Hi (name) Thank you for your request to join the Facebook group GSF Speaker Community. This group is restricted to people who are members of a Global Speakers Federation speakers association. You can see a full list of our associations under the group description. As admin of this group, I would be happy to approve you as a member once you confirm. Please let me know. Many thanks

Typically, the request is left up for 10 days so they have enough time to respond but if they don't, they are declined from joining the group.
